Crossing Points

Crossing Points is a collaborative composition by Alexander Vert, Thomas Köppel and José Miguel Fernández. The instrumental part, played by percussionist Philippe Spiesser, uses a set of five toms plus a low tom for the introduction. It was written by two hands: the two composers wrote separate sections, which were then juxtaposed to create the overall form of the piece.

The video part, programmed with the C++ library openFrameworks, is built on a system that can be controlled in real time by motion-capture data, audio analysis or a physical controller. The system creates thousands of particles displayed by two video projectors.
