Curvatura II

acousmatic, generated in real time
HOA spatialisation

Curvatura II is an acousmatic composition generated in real time within a Higher Order Ambisonics (HOA) spatialisation system. It is first of all an exploration, a study of different ways of layering sound and of transforming sound material through time and space.

The curvature of time, achieved by continuously deforming tempi (accelerandos, rallentandos, modulations) and sound-synthesis parameters, together with their superimpositions, generates both the micro- and the macro-structure of the piece. The layering and mutation of these ever-changing elements give rise to sound aggregates from which a global sonic and perceptual effect emerges, one that at the same time builds the direction and trajectory of the musical discourse.
